Way too many football players and strength coaches develop favorite lifts (usually one’s they’re good at) and stick to them no matter what. I’ve run into guys I trained with a decade ago and they are still doing the same workouts! I don’t mean the same philosophy, I mean the actual same football workout! Same exercises, sets, reps and sometimes, sadly, weights.

Now of course in order to get into wakeboarding enough to use it as part of your workout, you obviously will need a boat, wakeboard, wakeboard handle and rope, life vest, and all the other gear required to enjoy this sport. So to some degree I guess this sport and workout is something a little more geared towards those with a boat and the gear or to those looking into buying them. But if you do have it or are planning on getting involved with this great sport, just think of what good it can do for your workout.
Though outdoor sports are certainly entertaining, there is one challenge in participating in outdoor sports when winter rolls in. This challenge is staying warm. There are many ways to assure that you stay warm outdoors during the cold winter months, but there are two important areas to focus on when heading outdoors. These two areas are your hands, and your head.
Watch what you eat: Now, I’m not talking about the amount of food, but the kind of food. Stay away from fast food whenever possible. Most of it is fried in grease and is full of bad fats and “empty” calories. If you must eat out then go to a healthier food joint like Subway. Fresh food means good food, and that’s important. I grew up on fresh fruits and vegetables and family who could cook, so I’ve never had a problem preparing and eating my veggies and other home style cooking. Healthy meals need not be boring or bland. There are many delicious meals that are healthy and quite easy to make. I provided a link to one of my soups at the end of this article. It’s a great soup that requires garbanzo beans and it is very hearty and tasty. My sister was never a bean fan but she will eat this soup up.
L.A. deserves it more– Although the Kings joined the NHL the same season as the Flyers, L.A. has yet to enjoy a Stanley Cup victory. After taking out the top three seeds in the Western Conference with a 12-2 record overall, the Kings deserve to have the league’s second longest Stanley Cup drought snapped this year.
