5 Common Vision Myths

These two small transparent, round little discs have an interesting history. It is said Leonardo da Vinci may have described and sketched them 300 years before the first pair was sold. The inventor of the soft contact lenses that are popular today was Otto Wuchterle, a Czech chemist and Drohoslav Lim, his assistant who also developed the gel used in manufacturing them.

My parents noticed that we both seemed to be tired all the time and we had no energy. At first they thought it was the flu or some other childhood illness. Then my brother and I started exhibiting symptoms that weren’t so normal. We both were thirsty all the time and we were running to the bathroom constantly. Both of us started losing weight even though we always seemed to be hungry and were eating all the time. My parents learned the hard way that the following symptoms were the classic symptoms of Diabetes.

These exercises prevent eyestrain, especially if you have been working in front of the computer or browsing in your Smartphone or tablet for long periods of time. You can expect some instant relief after every exercise.

We finally decided to seek help. The first step was to rule out vision and hearing problems. After taking her to the coloured contacts, we found out that she had severe eye tracking and convergence problems. That led us to check into vision therapy. These tears help maintain the health of the eye.

You’ve crossed the 40 threshold – statistics show that after 40 there’s a good chance that, if you’re not wearing glasses full-time, you’ll need to wear them on a temporary basis to read.

The same goes for not wanting to participate in activities that require good vision. If your school-age child doesn’t like to read, has trouble reading or doing homework, or avoids sports and other activities that require seeing far away, s/he may need glasses.

Think of it like this. Pretend you are tasked with writing a set of instructions for someone to follow so they could rescue a child from a cave, and the cave holds only a limited amount of oxygen. I’m betting you wouldn’t leave anything fuzzy. You would write with such precision that there was no possibility of them getting to the wrong cave. When you write with this much clarity when writing your own goals, I warn you, you better hang on, because your life will begin taking on a new form.
