Those of you who aren’t ready to wade into the Blog pool are taking your time for several reasons, according to my informal interviews with people before and after they blog. Others start blogging and then abandon their projects too soon, unaware of the benefits.
A. Write an article on your blog stressing your guest blogging effort and achievement; and link to all your published guest articles. This will show to your readers that you are an expert in your niche and such expertise has being acknowledged by other bloggers.
You should see a button that says something like “start posting”. What’ll happen is a edit page with a form will appear. There will be fields for the article/ entry title, the body text, and a date/time stamp (which defaults to right now). There will also be a number of tabs that let you use the large text area like a rich-text editor. Play with the tabs and “buttons” a bit; get acquainted.
And so I grrrrrrrrrr to myself, tear out my hair, and continue to blog. Yes I duplicate stuff that is on my business site, and articles I submit for submission, and I ad links to my own writing especially when it is published professionally.
Sure it took time. Sure it meant she had to foot the bill to send review copies to these folks. But these blog placements helped her become extremely well connected, and while her direct-pitching efforts to the ‘big guys’ were proving fruitless, these media folks respected the opinion of bloggers enough to book her based on their recommendation.
The term weblog was invented by Jorn Barger in 1997, but it was shortened to Blog by Peter Merholz in 1999. The word blog may have actually been a typo. Peter used the phrase ‘we blog’ in the sidebar of his weblog. Join the discussion started popping up more often on the Internet in 1999, and in March of 2003, the Oxford English Dictionary added the words weblog, weblogging, and weblogger to the dictionary.
Granted, especially if you’re busy, or have a medium sized to large business, it may be in your best interest to hire one of the few consultants that works on these types of issues.
More importantly, a quality dofollow blog subscription service will monitor the comments made and prohibit auto-commenting with software. Violators are removed from the membership. This oversight maintains the integrity of the comments and increase the chances the blogs retain dofollow commenting.
